About 500 Hoosier LGBT people rallied against a proposed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, civil unions and domestic partner benefits yesterday. While Fox 59 has done an admirable job of leading the way for accurate LGBT reporting, I was disappointed to see "Gay Marriage Rally" in the reporting. While they still had to find someone to speak negatively about LGBT people, I did get a small giggle out of the moronic state senator who thinks that "one man and one woman" has been the standard since Biblical times. Uh, no. That would be one man and several women (plus concubines!). Doh!

Complete video of the entire rally after the jump. A state senate subcommittee is supposed to "debate" the amendment tomorrow, but it will likely pass easily.

Notice that guest blogger Patrick Roth is a featured speaker as well as Bilerico contributor Annette Gross. You'll also see other contributors and commenters in the crowd.

You may find the moronic state senator amusing, Bil. I found him ominous--he's truly dedicated to seeing a fundamentalist Christian narrative taken as historical fact and used as a basis for codifying law. SCARY!

I'll laugh when he's recalled.

Paige - Indiana does not have recall.. and this Senator has been there for years. His district is solidly red. In fact, the chance of changing the Indiana Senate is very slim.

By the way - you can watch the livestream of the senate debate now:
