Indiana Teen Beaten at School

An Indiana teen was beaten in school by a student who used "anti-gay slurs" but the police refuse to deal with it as a hate crime.

The report is sloppy so it's hard to tell if the other students in the bathroom did anything to help, what would happen if this were considered a hate crime, and why the fact that the student who did this worked alone means that it's not a hate crime. But it does say that they'll be back in school together next week.

maybe we should go around "str8 bashing" Its not a hate crime!..Its just simple person on person ridiculous does this sound..SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!!

HATE CRIME all the way! Just like the black girl who got that racist message on her cellphone from a white student in another Indiana school. That was a hate crime and THIS is a hate crime. Those policemen should be fired and the school principle.

I think Get Equal or some of these Washington based gay rights groups should be talking to the feds about reviewing this hate crime.

Where is the ACLU?

Mom needs to push the envelope here.

What a surprize! A mid-western podunk town thinks assaulting a gay boy while yelling gay hate speech and with a group watching isn't a hate crime.
If it isn't a major city, then LGTBQ are really not tolerated. I live in florida. Uless it is a major city or a college town, there is little sympathy for LGBTQ people of any age. And hate crime status is usually not issued.
I thank God I live in the only Democratic majority county in this state. We have pretections for everyone as law, including LGBTQ citizens.
Remember the old syaing during the cold war? "Better Dead than Red". Well there is a new one, If your state is red then you want gays dead.
