This has to be one of the most despicable political fliers I've seen in a while. Rose Ferlita, a Tampa Republican, is running for mayor. Less Government Now, a 527 group, sent out the flier headlined with, "Rose Ferlita: Unmarried. Unsure. Unelectable."

Obviously, this is meant as a suggestion that Ferlita is a lesbian. (I have no idea if she is or isn't and it's obviously none of my business; her marital status wouldn't change her ability to do the job one way or another.) Strangely enough, the 527 is denying that they sent the flier and points the finger at a Democratic operative who also denies involvement. The group and the consultant have worked together before.

Absolutely disgusting. Politics is a dirty sport, but this makes pig wrestling look squeaky clean.

Although equally bad but somehow more justified (IMO), I guess they are inviting future political ads that read:

John Republican Smith -
Adulteror, Closet Homosexual, Absent Father, and Total Bottom.

". . . an unmarried woman with a suspect commitment to family values." !?!?!?!?!?!?WTF?

If she were married with kids they'd call her "too barefoot and pregnant" for office.

Click on the image and read what it says. It is hilarious. Under unelectable it says in part "that's why none of her former opponents have endorsed her". Karl Rove had to be the author of that creative truth.

lol, I thought the same thing. Oh no, how can a politician continue without endorsements from her opponents!
