First of all, I'd like to welcome all of our new readers to Bilerico Project. We have a few rules for our comment sections that it seems appropriate to point out.
First, please sign up for an account if you'd like to comment. We're getting ready to launch a new design in a couple of weeks and the anonymous comment feature will be going away. You'll either need to sign in to a Bilerico account (where you can create a username to protect your identity) or your Facebook account to comment. You might as well get signed up now since you'll need it later. Approving all the moderated comments is a big job and, well, we're tired of it; we've got other work to do around here as we prep for the relaunch.
Second, if you'd like to chime in and join the discussions, there are a few things we ask. While arguing about an opinion or idea is encouraged, personal attacks will not be tolerated. Please be respectful of others. The editorial team will delete a comment that is off-topic, abusive, exceptionally incoherent, includes a slur or is soliciting and/or advertising. Repeated violations of the policy will result in revocation of your user account. Please keep in mind that this is our online home; ill-mannered house guests will be shown the door.
We hope you'll join in the discussions on the site, but we won't tolerate racism or LGBT-phobic comments. You can disagree with us all you want, you can quote Bible verses about homosexuality or say you think it's a sin, you can even insult our patron saint, Neil Patrick Harris, but you can't call someone names, use slurs, or be insulting. We don't aim to censor folks who argue in good faith, but there's a limit.
Welcome to Bilerico Project. We hope to see you often. (img src)
