Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma or Mars, who said on the floor of the Oklahoma house:sally-kern.png

We have a high percentage of blacks in prison, and that's tragic, but are they in prison just because they are black or because they don't want to study as hard in school? I've taught school, and I saw a lot of people of color who didn't study hard because they said the government would take care of them.

She has apologized. Saying the usual "I'm sorry you found that offensive."

The award is carved out of suet and is quite pleased with itself.

OMG, Kate, that Sally is some talker, ain't she? We could hardly have dreamed up a more unhinged, irrational, politically inept public official if we had tried. Dang! Some buncha Oklahoma voters actually elected her, so we didn't dream her up, after all. Same kinda nightmare as we sweated through when George Dubya was in the White House. Wake me up when it's over!

Non-apology apologies. They've become a political art form, haven't they?

Off with her head.

I'm sorry her parents were inept at social skills.

Someone ought to do "Sally Kern Stand Up" with a collection of her most memorable 'gems.'

I bet Sally could really school us on all those red people they've got in Oklahoma.

Can we stop using the word "apologized" for this kind of thing?

Typical - As a Person of Color - trust me when I tell you - We are use to it. Such acts takes place at my place of employment on a daily basis.

And she will go to church tomorrow to hear her pastor husband preach (if memory serves me correctly) and sit in the pew and tell God what a good little girl she has been this week fighting the evil black people.

This demented soul is simply a bigot. Where do the Republicans find trash like this to run for office?

Even her "apology", is racist.
