"At a time when gay and lesbian Americans are facing real challenges in states like Minnesota, Tennessee or North Carolina, when we have the opportunity for concrete progress in New York, and where there is work to be done in Washington on issues like employment nondiscrimination and tax equity, our advocacy organizations are attacking long-time corporate allies for advertising on FOX News? It's not only a bad tactic, it's going to do more long-term harm than anything else."

-- R. Clarke Cooper, Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director, criticizing the new campaign by GLAAD, Courage Campaign, and Media Matters/Equality Matters to get Orbitz to stop advertising on Fox News. Cooper goes on to praise three Fox personalities for saying something nice about the gayz once.

Placing this quote under the "Quote of the Day" header doesn't relieve Browning/Bilerico of the reasonable obligation to put the quote into the context of the full referenced statement and rationale of Cooper and the Log Cabin Republicans. As a politically conservative-leaning independent I have concerns about Cooper's/LCR's weakness in expressing bold, confident and clear statements of beliefs; but presenting this quote out of context seems to be inflammatory sheepherding. At least provide a link to the full article to provide opportunity for Bilerico readers to make an INFORMED decision for ourselves what to think of Cooper's/LCR's position.
