A Texas court ruled this week to invalidate the marriage between Thomas Araguz, a firefighter killed in the line of duty, and Nikki Araguz, a transexual woman, after the man's family wanted to exclude her from his death benefits. Nikki Araguz was charged with felony theft in April. However, police said they could not find her to serve an arrest warrant.
According to court documents, Araguz met a woman at a southwest Houston bar in February and drugged her. The woman woke up the next morning and discovered that her Rolex watch had been replaced with a different watch, the documents showed.

"(The victim) woke up the next morning and found that her Rolex watch had been swapped out for a Swatch watch," said Donna Hawkins with the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
Court documents showed that a witness reported finding an entry on Araguz's Facebook page that stated she had gotten a Rolex watch from an unidentified man. The witnesses told detectives that she confronted Araguz about the watch and she admitted she had the woman's missing watch, but she claimed they had willingly traded watches.

Investigators said Araguz took the Rolex watch to a pawn shop in northwest Houston...

Araguz was arrested while awaiting a verdict in her civil case after voluntarily turning herself in. She posted a $2,000 bond and was released the same day.

Araguz has been convicted of four theft charges previously. If convicted this time, she faces up to two years in prison.

Does this mean all the gay media will make sure to call her transsexual now? :)

First of all, Texas is one of the country's most Trans backwards states. Why any lgbt person would want to live there or do business there is totally beyond me. Secondly, If you can't trust the government to stick up for you in civil matters then you probably can't trust local media to get a trans-centric story right either. Thirdly, the world had a smelly armpit... it would be located where Texas is.

>.O first of all, the case regarding her marriage is a miscarriage of ...ok, its not justice thats for sure. While I do feel for her over this misscarriage of justice, working on a 4th theft charge doesn't help her. I hope it is something other than what it appears to be.

Think you known Nikki Araguz Well she's not the victim she lets on to be, in fact her latest arrest isn't her first brush with the law. She got a long record. Take a look She is a felon,

1992 – Misdemeanor Theft $200-$750 – Harris County, TX?
1994 – DWI – one year probation?
1995 – Misdemeanor Theft $20-$500 – one year probation?
2000 – Felony Theft $1,500-$20,000 – three years probation?
2005 – DWI – three days jail?2008 – Felony Cocaine Possession – Two year deferred adjudication

*deferred adjudication is technically not a felony “conviction” even though it’s a guilty plea, but her 2000 felony theft charge IS.

She also went on Jerry Springer, blindsided some guy she dated as a woman by announcing she was a man. And has self professed to having lived a sexually promiscuous life while being HIV pos, before marrying her deceased husband. She’s an unsympathetic figure in terms of public relations, I’d say, regardless of how sympathetic people may feel about her gender situation.

She's certainly not someone the Transsexual community wants representing them so it's a good thing the news agencies are calling her transgender.
