As many of you know, I'm a pastor in southern Vermont. The devastation here is significant. You probably won't be hearing from me for a few weeks while we get a sense of what needs to be done, and I just wanted you to know where I went.

Please pray, send good thoughts, or anything else you can think of to do that's positive and please make sure that people know what's happening here. The hurricane may have passed NYC with little fanfare, but it has been catastrophic here.

Here are some photos of the devastation in my area. More photos after the break.

Once a Vermonter, always a Vermonter! I am from up in the Northeast Kindom and am happy to report that my children still there were fortunate and are safe. But I mourn the loss all Vermonters suffered especially you and yours Rev. Emily, whom I consider friend not yet met. May God strenthen you and and empower you as you Minister to the afflicted and deal with the tradgedy that is surely yours.

I grew up in New Hampshire, on the border with Vermont. The photos of the ruination in the Green Mountain State are killing me. Best of luck to you and all Vermonters--which currently includes both my mother and my brother--and let us know if there's something we can do.

I'm from Boston, now in Miami and have been through several hurricanes over the last 9 years in South Florida. We must always take them seriously and follow officials' warnings. Many have died and Vermont is devastated - our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Emily, is there anything more concrete you need there that we who have emerged from this unscathed can contribute? Donations of money, supplies , labor? Please keep us posted on what you need and where to send it.

Yes, please tell us what we can do to help you and the people in the great state of Vermont.
