AdamSandler.jpegSince there's apparently nothing left in this world to remake and repackage, Walt Disney Pictures has been toying with the idea of a remake of the 1987 comedy Three Men and a Baby, which featured Ted Danson, Tom Selleck, and Steve Guttenberg as bachelors who find themselves stuck raising a child.

Adam Sandler is rumored to be attached to produce the project, which he's re-imagining as the story of three gay men in a committed trio relationship raising a child.

The actors who are being buzzed about for the roles are Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, and David Spade, who last appeared together in Grown Ups.

Why do I have a feeling that - based on his delivery of the straight-guys-posing-as-gays I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry - Sandler's gay take on this can only wind up being offensive and misrepresentative?

Be afraid. Be very, very afraid! With Adam Sandler involved , I am sure it will be inappropriate AND offensive. Boycott, starting now while in the planning stage. No more slurs, no more bashing!

Liz, Amen sister, amen... and that from a Pagan-to-the-bone LGBT who hasn't watched even the ads for anything with Adam Sandler connected to it in a very, very long time. I'm a single Gay parent and grandparent, with two daughters and 5 little heathens that I spoil unmercifully. I've had my own personal boycott of this talentless hack since that gods-awful "Big Daddy" when he encouraged that little boy to whip it out and pee on the wall, then did it himself. Yeah, I know it was meant to be a comedy - even if it wasn't funny, just the usual shtick from a lucky talentless hack - but I thought at the time, and still do, that there are stupid people out there... and Sandler just handed them a license to pee wherever they felt like it. I'm from New Orleans, and believe me - they do. I couldn't understand the producer's decision to go ahead with that scene, it would be the equivalent of me telling my girls to squat on the sidewalk.
Now the morons in control of the Hollywood drek mill are giving this hack control of another movie... one in which Sandler has access to two of his favorite targets, children and Gay people? You can be afraid for both of us, Liz. I've gone straight to thoroughly disgusted.

Interesting idea, and could be good if executed artfully -- but I agree, don't expect "artfully" from Adam Sandler. My fear is that every second joke will be about being gay itself.

OTOH, I wouldn't mind being in a three-way with Chris Rock. The fact they (Sandler and the other movie backers and shakers) are considering an inter-racial ménage à trois. is the only ballsy thing we can expect out of this almost-certain-to-be-turkey.

But don't start protesting until someone sees what they are producing -- Give them a chance to do a good job (Miracles do happen!... Maybe they will bring in a knowledgeable "gay consultant") or give them enough rope to hang themselves.
