"These are the false stereotypes put forth by the staunchest opponents of marriage equality...These are the false stereotypes that drive parents to send their children to so-called "conversion therapy" - So that their kids don't end up a part of this 'scene.'"

--Corey Johnson of GLAAD, regarding its change.org petition against the use of anti-gay stereotypes on Huffington Post.

Huffington Post is wrong on this one. By not addressing the underlying economic factors, which actually do force a lot of young men into gay porn, sex work, stripping, etc., and painting a picture that gay men lead a sort of rosy existence, GLAAD is the one doing a disservice to a larger population.

The article NEVER generalized by saying that all or most gay men do this, only that a sophisticated and large network (which is true) exists to facilitate these services.

Meant to say "GLAAD is wrong on this one."
