When was the last time you saw a United States President speak at the United Nations and advocate on behalf of LGBT people? "No country should deny people their rights, the freedom of speech and freedom of religion, but also no country should deny people their rights because of who they love, which is why we must stand up for the rights of gays and lesbians everywhere," says Obama during his speech.

I'm glad that we have a President who is (usually) prepared to say the right thing. But I'd be a whole lot happier if we had a President who was also willing to try to follow through on what he says, at least occasionally.
