The American Foundation for Equal Rights distributed a video about what Thanksgiving means to Kris Perry & Sandy Stier and Paul Katami & Jeff Zarrillo, the two couples challenging the constitutionality of Prop 8.

AFER Co-Founder and Board President Chad Griffin sent this note:

Dear Friend,

I want to share with you a special Thanksgiving message from our four plaintiffs - Kris Perry & Sandy Stier and Paul Katami & Jeff Zarrillo. It's a reminder that this holiday is about love, family and gratitude.??Kris, Sandy, Paul and Jeff are courageously standing up for millions of loving couples across this great country who simply want the freedom to marry, just like their relatives, friends and colleagues. As Jeff says, "Whether it's a couple like Kris and Sandy with four boys, or my Mom and Dad who are celebrating their 43rd wedding anniversary, a family is a family." All families should be treated equally under the law.

As this case moves forward in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, we are all optimistic that very soon marriage equality will be a reality for ALL Americans and their families.

On behalf of Kris & Sandy, Paul & Jeff and everyone here at AFER, I wish you a very happy Thanksgiving.

With gratitude,

Chad H. Griffin
Board President
