Eight National Hockey League players have joined Brian Burke, the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and Patrick Burke, a scout for the Philadelphia Flyers, in creating a PSA dedicated to ending homophobia in professional hockey. Brendan Burke was the first hockey player to publicly come out; he died in a car accident in early 2010. The family has honored his legacy by advocating for equality in the NHL.
