Yesterday I wrote a post about the State of Missouri's plans to add a bust of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh to the state capitol's "Hall of Famous Missourians." This comes on the heels of Limbaugh's personal attacks on Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown University Law student, over her views on contraceptives that has caused a growing number of advertisers to pull their support for his show.

Always a controversial figure, I questioned whether this honor is a mistake or just an embarrassment. I lean towards embarrassment. The Republicans in the Missouri Legislature know exactly what they are doing - and in the process turning my home state into a joke.

I was given some hope today when Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill (D) posted on her website a questionnaire asking her constituents to weigh in on the addition of Limbaugh to the capitol. Fingers crossed that enough people respond, and she puts as much pressure as possible on the state government to rethink Limbaugh's honorability.

Honestly, I doubt she can make a difference. If anything, maybe she can use her voice to inform the Missouri citizens that this is taking place. I am sure there are enough people out there just as embarrassed as I am.

I encourage all Missourians to weigh in on McCaskill's poll, but also pick up the phone and let your state representatives know what you really think about Rush Limbaugh. Missourians are better than this.
