It's Pride Day in DC today. I'm finally back from my wild American walkabout just in time. Since I'm not the Grand LA PrideMarshall this year, this means I can actually watch and enjoy the parade for the first time here.

Back in Indianapolis, the parade and the festival are on the same day. They start in the morning and then go all day. Here the parade is on Saturday and the festival is on Sunday. There are so many other events that it really makes it a weekend celebration - including the big bear dance party Blowoff tonight.

We have a friend in from out of town too, so we'll be going to as many things as possible - including Blowoff. You'll catch Jerame, James Holmes, me and a few other non-Bilerico friends out and about all weekend - so if you see us, stop and say hi.

So for today's open thread, let's talk Pride. Do you go to your local event? Why or why not? And what's it like? How many people go? What are the activities?
