Despite the gloom about London's World Pride event being downsized and postponed at the last second, thousands of fun, sexy LGBT folks from around the globe still partied at the city's 40th Pride march.

Over the years, friends and I have gotten to march alongside the parade's many activists, amoralists and artists, through the heart streets: throngs of cheering folks every age and color waving their rainbow bandanas, blowing kisses from outstretched hands and pointing out the queerest of the queer: the musclemen in leather singlets, the golden gowned queens floating above the asphalt, the jam band with its dancing, spiky-haired dykes, the identically-clad herds hoisting proudly their handmade banners while marching in small clusters.

Sadly, a long stint of unemployment earlier in the year rendered me unable to attend, but a long-time friend and fraternity brother attended in my place, snapping pictures so we could vicariously experience the parade through him.

They're all after the break.

While you can click them for larger versions, you can also check out The Advocate's beautiful shots of the parade or all the hook-up app eye candy sent shirtless through SoHo.
