Yes. Gay people live in and visit West Virginia. Let's rise above stereotypes here and put away our dueling banjos. It's not that I hate banjos - I am from southern Missouri after all - but you get my point.
And to prove it, next week is Homoclimbtastic, an annual convention for gay and gay friendly rock climbers in Fayetteville, West Virginia.
And if you need more proof, check out this advertisement for the local rock climbing gear shop, Water Stone Outdoors. Set to "Sexy & You Know It," we see some local gays (and straights) dancing in shop in very little clothing.
They make a great window display, and I think the guy in green spandex is my favorite. Maybe it's time I do more than drive through West Virginia to go back to Missouri (not that I have a car anymore).
My last stop there was to refill my car probably four years ago, and at the gas station, not a single man had his shirt on and most of them were HOT! I was afraid slightly, being gay and all, but I secretly wanted one of them to smack me around a little. Sorry. From southern Missouri. Still a sucker for country boys.
Check out the ad. Does it make you want to take up rock climbing? Or just find a nice country boy that can pull off spandex leggings?
