Hair-poster.jpgToday's sing-off is inspired by hair. Seriously.

Bil and I have both been working on a review for some hair trimmers and it has had Hair stuck in my head for the last few days. I considered using the song "Hair," but there were not enough versions out there to make the post - so instead your Saturday dose of flower power is coming to you in the form of "Aquarius."

My earliest memory of Hair was this song - but the version by the 5th Dimension. Thanks to them, "Aquarius" is not "Aquarius" unless it is grouped with "Let the Sunshine In." The versions below come both with and without some sunshine, so we will stay focused on "Aquarius."

Thanks to my former hippie father, I romanticized the 1960s from an early age. Everything was groovy and the music was amazing. It wasn't until I was older that I understood the chaos and fight for social change that ruled the era. That's when I figured out that Hair was more than just this one song.

I have only seen the film version and I know it differs greatly from the stage show. There was a goal of making it to NYC to catch the 2009 revival, but that never happened. It will be back sooner or latter.

Check out the clips below. I still have to go with the 5th Dimension version, but who do you think did it best? Let me know in the comments. Did I miss anyone you think deserves a chance? Give us the link.

Let the sing-off begin.
