A group of MIT designers have created a concept for an inflatable jacket that "hugs" you when you get a "like" on Facebook.

For the life of me I can't decide how I feel about it. As a piece of social media integration technology, it rather creeps me out. But as someone with loves and lovers who live far away, I can see the appeal as a way of bringing more intimacy to the sterile world of online interactions.

My friend Rabbit had a whole different take on it, saying

...it could be a horror movie set up: 'oh, no! I'm trapped in my coat! Whatever you do, don't look at my Facebook or it will make me do evil things (and/or)/kill me w/ hugs!'

I don't know about you, but I'd watch the shit out of that movie.

While we wait for potentially homicidal hugging coats to come along, here are some things you need to know today:
