The_nightmare_before_christmas_poster.jpgGod bless you, Tim Burton, for giving us the greatest Halloween/Christmas movie ever. The Nightmare Before Christmas magically combines my two favorite holidays into a twisted musical classic.

Though debate exists over whether this is a Christmas movie of a Halloween movie - my partner David seems to think it is a Christmas - why can't it be both?

I saw the original release in theaters when I was in 3rd Grade and owned a VHS copy until replaced by DVD. I think I still prefer the VHS version - it feels more like childhood.

And since the greatest holiday of the year is this Wednesday, "This Is Halloween" has been playing on repeat in my head (soon to be replaced by "Making Christmas" but I'll save that post for December).

Sadly the Frankenstorm may be pouring rain on my Halloween plans, but I am fine with staying in with boardgames and Jack Skellington.

There aren't many covers for "This Is Halloween," but the ones that exist hold up to the creepiness of the original. Who do you think did it best? And beyond that, what is your favorite Halloween song - give us a link in the comments.
