During this weekend's Saturday Night Live, the cast performed a quick skit poking fun at NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and NJ Governor Chris Christie's frequent news conferences to update the nation on the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Bloomberg's ASL translater, Lydia Callis, was so animated that mesmerizing that it wasn't long before the animated gifs and tumblr blog were born - and she seems to be the main focus of the skit. As an aside, the Atlantic has a spectacular look at "Why Great Sign Language Interpreters Are So Animated" that's a must read. They break down many of Callis' signs, what they actually mean, and how the animated facial expressions and body language fills out the information.
