We've got a marriage heavy What You Need To Know Today. In fact, it's a constant struggle to keep same-sex marriage news from dominating the WYNTK on a weekly basis. This is an issue that gets a lot of press, and has come to be a defining element of the struggle for LGBT equal rights.

My own perspective on the issue of marriage equality is somewhat complex, which is a topic I've written about many times before (see here and here for some examples). I do believe that same-sex marriage greatly benefits many gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trans* people. However, I also feel strongly, that in the rush to put marriage above all else, economically privileged, middle class, middle aged, and primarily gay and lesbian people have been all too willing to disregard issues vital to the lives of many vulnerable members of our community.

As a rule, I try not to allow that same disregard to play a role my choices of links for the thrice-weekly What You Need To Know.

But it is possible to celebrate victories when they come without denying how much fighting still lies ahead, so I hope that you enjoy the five marriage-related links that I've included today. For the record, they make up just over a third of today's stories.
