Last night, Jodie Foster gave an interesting speech while accepting the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.

In her speech, she talked about coming out and respecting her privacy. However, this issue has ignited a firestorm within the community.

My personal opinion is she did this her way and that's her business. But I'm very curious to hear what your opinions about this. Was this offensive, heartfelt or just over the top?

Please share your thoughts.
