The Pennsylvania Democrats are coming out swinging in support of marriage equality. After a county clerk started issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples and the state Attorney General announced she wouldn't defend a legal challenge to the state's DOMA law, Republican Governor Tom Corbett has been under the gun to take a stance on marriage.

The Governor, who had previously announced his opposition to the freedom to marry, directed the Pennsylvania Department of Health to sue Montgomery County Register of Wills D. Bruce Hanes for issuing same-sex marriage licenses in violation of the law - but wouldn't reiterate his anti-gay views. Instead, Corbett is using the "the law is the law is the law" defense.
