"It's not up to the courts to invent new minorities that get special protections."

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, speaking to the Federalist Society in Bozeman, Montana on Monday. Scalia's comments are widely believed to be a reference to the recent Supreme Court decisions that struck down California's Proposition 8 and a section of the so-called "Defense of Marriage Act."
