Here's a bit of awesomeness for your Wednesday afternoon: a local TV news story about online news from 1981, reportedly originating from KRON-TV in San Francisco. The clip has been making the rounds on social media for awhile, but it's so worth watching that I knew I had to share it with you. It's a fascinating look back to a time when the Internet was in its infancy and downloading a newspaper's worth of text took more than two hours.

My favorite quote: "This is only the first step in newspapers by computer. Engineers now predict the day will come when we get all our newspapers and magazines by home computer, but that's a few years off."
