good-luck-charlie-lesbians.jpgThe Disney Channel broke the lavender ceiling with a few seconds of inclusive scripting in the family sitcom "Good Luck Charlie." It was the first time the Disney Channel has shown any openly gay characters on television.

In the episode, actors Lilli Birdsell and Desi Lydic play lesbian parents Cheryl and Susan.

Parents Amy and Bob Duncan (Leigh-Allyn Baker and Eric Allan Kramer) set up a playdate for their child Charlie (Mia Talerico).

When the new child arrives for the playdate, the Duncans discover that Charlie's friend has two mothers.

Best of all? No one bats an eye. There's no drama to be worked out. No one is homophobic and needs redemption. Lesbian parents just exist; it's no big deal.
