phil-robertson-duck-dynasty.jpgVideo has surfaced of Phil Robertson, the racist and homophobic star of the A&E "reality" TV show Duck Dynasty, advising Christian men to marry underage girls.

Speaking at a 2009 gathering of the Georgia Sportsmen's Ministry, Robertson delivered what he called "river rat counselin'":

"[Good women] got to where they're getting hard to find, mainly because these boys are waiting 'til they get to be about 20 years old before they marry 'em.

"Look, [if] you wait 'til they get to be 20 years old, the only picking that's going to take place is your pocket. You got to marry these girls when they [are] about 15 or 16; they'll pick your ducks."

He also told the audience that they should make sure their teenaged brides-to-be are skilled cooks who carry their Bibles around. Robertson also advised the men to "check with mom and dad" before marrying any 15- or 16-year-olds.

Mr. Robertson and his wife Kay began dating when she was 14 and he was 18; the couple married when he was 20 and she was 16.

So to recap: in Phil Robertson's world, "traditional family values" = men marrying girls in their freshman and sophomore years of high school. But two men or two women getting married? Nope -- that would be immoral.

Ummmm, amen?

Video of Robertson's remarks is after the jump.
