denver-anchors-react-to-on-air-penis.pngIn case you haven't heard, yesterday morning, Denver's Fox affiliate KVDR broke the news about the awful news helicopter crash in Seattle, Washington.

The camera went to Twitter to show real-time photos of the crash scene. One photo did make it on air, but that was followed by a picture of Edward Scissorhands... and then an omelet... and then a flaccid, uncircumcised penis. (Eek!)

Of course, as the screengrab shows, the three anchors who were paying attention were positively mortified. The fourth was looking down at an iPad and must not have seen the image -- a fact which led many viewers to wonder whether the photo came from said iPad.

The station issued an apology yesterday and was quick to clarify that that was (allegedly) not the case:

While reporting breaking news about the crash of the KOMO-TV helicopter in Seattle, FOX31 Denver accidentally broadcast an offensive photo while scrolling live through a Twitter feed of pictures from the crash scene.

The photo was mistakenly broadcast by our control room. It did not come from the tablet many viewers saw being used by one of our anchors.

We apologize for the inadvertent broadcast of the image and we are taking immediate steps to prevent such an accident from happening again.

Watch the NSFW video, after the jump.

Ahhh, live television.
