Following in the footsteps of other major universities like the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the athletics department at Notre Dame University has released a video for the You Can Play project, a campaign "dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes, without regard to sexual orientation."

While the gesture itself is laudable enough, it's additionally significant because Notre Dame is a Catholic school -- and one that doesn't exactly have the strongest history of LGBT inclusion. The video features athletes, including out and proud ones, from a wide variety of school sports teams.

Right on, Irish!
