Late-night comedian and satirist John Oliver hit yet another home run last night on his HBO show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. In a segment discussing the police shooting of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown and the ongoing protests that ensued, Oliver slammed the creeping militarization of America's police forces.

"Unless you live in downtown Kabul, there is no practical need for anything like [military armored vehicles] in your town...

"I know the police love their ridiculous, unnecessary military equipment, so here's another patronizing test. Let's take it all away from them, and if they can make it through a whole month without killing an unarmed black man, then and only then can they get their fucking toys back."
