-- Roman Catholic Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, condemning civil unions and same-sex marriage Monday at a meeting of the Italian bishops. Bagnasco, who is head of the Italian Bishops Conference, additionally claimed that children "have a right to a mother and a father."
