John Oliver Examines ALEC's Influence on State Races

On Sunday's episode of Last Week Tonight, late-night comedian and satirist John Oliver -- who is rapidly becoming a favorite in our house -- told viewers that no matter which party ultimately controls the Senate, Congress's insanely frustrating gridlock is likely to continue.

The most important elections, Oliver says, are on the state level. And as he pointed out, there are crazies -- and cronies of the conservative, Koch-funded group ALEC -- running for office in states all across the country.
