"What I have a problem with is when people try to force people to act against their beliefs because they say 'they're discriminating against me.' So they can go right down the street and buy a cake, but no, let's bring a suit against this person because I want them to make my cake even though they don't believe in it. Which is really not all that smart because they might put poison in that cake."

-- Former neurosurgeon, conservative Tea Party favorite, and potential GOP 2016 presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, cracking a joke Saturday about homophobic bakers poisoning same-sex wedding cakes. Carson made the remarks at a press conference in Iowa after his speech at Rep. Steve King's "Iowa Freedom Summit." The Hill notes that some members of Carson's staff chuckled at the joke, but the journalists in the room were not amused; they responded with "dead silence."

UPDATE: Joe Jervis notes over at Joe. My. God. that Carson doubled down on his comments yesterday, accusing his critics of being "immature" and adding, "Never make your waiter or your chef angry, because you don't know what they're gonna put in your food."
