This morning, the Today show aired a pre-taped interview with Matt Lauer and reality TV superstar Kim Kardashian. The pair discussed Bruce Jenner's transition, and as Huffington Post reports, Kardashian voiced her unconditional support for her stepfather as he embarks on this journey:
"He has the biggest heart and I'm really happy for him that he's living his life the way he wants to live it and that he has found inner peace and just pure happiness," she told Lauer in Monday's interview. "That's what life is about. I don't know what life would be like if you always felt you weren't yourself. I know it's not something you or I could fully understand. But I don't even think we have to."
She refuted claims that some family members were opposed to his transition. "We all really support him. Is it a hard adjustment? Yes," she said. The whole family has spent time educating themselves with GLAAD and other organizations about transgender issues, Kardashian said: "What do we call him? Do we say him or her? How do we respectful?"
Kardashian added that Jenner's decision to transition has fortified him for the media onslaught that will surely ensue: "He has waited almost 65 years to make this decision... I think when you are finally ready to be your true self then you're prepared for anything."
Watch, after the break.
