Miley Cyrus Launches Happy Hippie Foundation

You may remember last year when Miley Cyrus had a homeless teen accept an award on her behalf at the MTV Music Awards. Shortly after, the teen was sought on an Oregon arrest warrant and turned himself over to police. Miley jumped to his defense and highlighted the fact that homeless youth face tough situations.

Yesterday, Miley Cyrus stepped up her activism for homeless youth and launched the Happy Hippies Foundation. This is a big deal, Miley Cyrus has some serious money raising ability. Right after the MTV Music Awards she raised over $200,000 for My Friend's Place, the Los Angeles organization that linked her up with Jesse that week.

According to the site:

"The Happy Hippie Foundation's programs help youth achieve positive outcomes in life. Our program areas include prevention, crisis response to meet basic immediate needs, support services to build long-term well-being, and public education to engage young people globally in systemic change through fundraising and awareness campaigns."
