During a dinner date in New York City, Jonathan Snipes and his boyfriend were brutally attacked by a still unidentified man. The attack was caught on video, which we have previously posted about.

Last night Snipes spoke with a local CBS news reporter about the vicious attack.

"At this moment, we're just going to get home. We're going to rest. We haven't been able to sleep yet because of the head injury that was sustained," Snipes said.

Snipes tells CBS that they just came from NYPD's Hate Crimes Unit, which is investigating the case as a hate crime.

What is incredibly sad is that both have refused medical attention because of the costs.

Dallas BBQ, where the attacked occurred, has also released a statement.
