Remember last year when Britain's Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle took the world by storm after stunning the reality show's judges with her rendition of 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Miserables? Meet this year's singing show phenomonen: Lin Yu Chun from Taiwan's Super Star Avenue.

The chubby Asian in a red bow tie belts out a cover of Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You' that would make Dolly Parton weep. I love it when these contestants blow away the judges and audience who make a snap decision on whether or not the singer will be any good based on their looks.

Susan Boyle's performance from last year is after the jump.

Why does everyone think that's a Whitney Houston song? It's Dolly Parton who wrote and originally did. The Whitney-ganda made it all the way to Taiwan!

No joke. Elvis wanted to record it and Dolly said no because she was not going to give up her publication rights to the song. So she recorded it and it went big. Then she recorded it again for a movie soundtrack for Best little whorehouse in Texas and it went big again. Then after Dolly had hits with it twice, Whitney Houston recorded it and had a hit with it. But it doesn't matter who they think wrote it, Dolly still get the residuals for writing it.

I never heard that about Elvis wanting to do this song. Interesting!

I'm not worried about Dolly getting money. But I just love her so much! She's the originally country drag queen.

His name escapes me, you could probably Google it...
but a black American kid became a star sensation of the Chinese opera in San Francisco.

He's around twelve years old, starting training the previous two years and started performing the year before. His coaches thought the timber of his voice was perfect for the music of the Chinese opera, but apparently to the ears of the enthusiasts of that type of ancient artistry think his voice is brilliant and he's a favorite.

I read about this in the LATimes...

Music hath charms...that channels from the most unexpected places!

Wow this kid just blew me away, such a beautiful voice, I almost teared up.

Wow!!!! What a voice. He brought tears to my eyes. I love both versions by Whitney and Dolly. I love this song. And he captured it and all its emotions.
