dan-savage-headshot.jpgThis week, ABC announced that it has picked up a number of additional TV pilots for 2015. Included on the list is a new comedy, currently untitled, that will be partially based on the early life of author, LGBT advocate, It Gets Better Project founder, and sex advice columnist Dan Savage.

Via the Hollywood Reporter:

[T]he untitled Savage comedy is a single-camera semi-autobiographical entry based on the LGBT activist/boundary-pushing columnist's life. It centers on a picture-perfect family that is turned upside down when the youngest son comes out of the closet. What seems like the end of their idyllic life turns out to be the beginning of a bright new chapter when everyone stops pretending to be perfect and actually starts being real.

Predictably, wingnuts are already freaking out over the announcement -- right-wing "birther" website WorldNetDaily has posted a laughably alarmist column calling Savage "one of the nation's most provocative homosexual activists" and lamenting the state of television these days. (In other news, get off my lawn, you goddamn hooligan kids!)
