Andrea Hildebran is a writer and organizer with 20 years experience in organizations serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, as well as the community gardening and urban agriculture movements. Based in St Petersburg, Florida, Andrea is the executive director at Green Florida, a non-profit dedicated to creating community gardens and helping neighborhoods organize for the transition to a green economy, and owner of Progressive Persuasion Consulting. She served as the Executive Director of the Kentucky Fairness Alliance, launching and serving within Kentucky’s campaign against an anti-gay Constitutional amendment banning marriage and civil unions. Andrea was twice elected co-chair of the Equality Federation, the nationwide network of state GLBT advocacy groups. Her writing has been published in Tampa’s Creative Loafing, the Boston Phoenix and Louisville’s Courier-Journal.
