Bio

I was born and raised in Crawfordsville, Indiana. I received my Bachelor of Political Science and Master of Public Administration degrees from Indiana State University, and my J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. I enjoyed a 16 year Indiana state government career; working as a Governor's Fellow, systems analyst, Secretary of the Worker's Compensation Board and a Member of the Worker's Compensation Board. I started a private legal practice in 1999.

I met my partner, Jeff Barnett, in the autumn of 1980. We've been together ever since and were married in Littleton, Massachusetts on September 2, 2008. Jeff and I live in downtown Indianapolis.

I ♥ the New Deal

At the outset, I admit that Franklin Roosevelt is my political hero and I've been enamored of The New Deal since I was first old enough to read about it. The public works projects are my particular fascination. In most...Read More
