Bio

Jeremy Bishop is Executive Director of Pride At Work, the constituency group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender workers in the labor movement and beyond.

Jeremy is a native North Carolinian who moved to Washington, DC after college to take a job at the national office of PFLAG. There, Jeremy helped organize the first staff union through the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) at PFLAG.

After the contract was signed, Jeremy became a field organizer at Pride At Work and has spent his last five years making sure that union officials, shop stewards, and members know the importance that a union contract can bring to LGBT working people. For many who live in states with no non-discrimination protections on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity, the only protection LGBT workers have on the job is through a union contract.

When not spreading the good news of the labor movement, Jeremy enjoys watching trashy television, including the UK version of Big Brother, South Park, and such high-brow entertainment as Battlestar Galactica and the McLaughlin Group.
